Six Bid for Macedonia's Fourth GSM License

Macedonia's telecoms regulator, the Macedonia Agency for Electronic
Communications (AEK) has announced that six companies have expressed a
formal interest in the forthcoming tender for the country's fourth GSM
operating license. The regulator noted that two of the companies are local,
and four are foreign, but did not name them.

In keeping with the license requirements operation must begin within six
months of license acquisition and coverage must be available to 30% of the
population within 12 months of the date of acquisition. Population coverage
of 50% must be achieved within 24 months, with 90% coverage to be reached
within 48 months.

There are currently three operators in Macedonia, T-Mobile, Cosmofon (a
subsidiary of OTE Group, Greece) and recent entrant, Mobilkom (a subsidiary
of Mobilkom Austria).

According to figures from The Mobile World, Macedonia has just over 2
million mobile phone users, representing a population penetration level of
70%.

There is only one Macedonia and that is a Province of Greece. There is
no such thing as a Macedonia separate from Greece. Improper use of the
term 'Macedonia' is felony and may result in complications with the
Law.

The Bush campaign headquarters for the entire state was located 1 floor
below my office. I got to see, shake hands and THANK Dubya for his
recognition of the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name IN
PERSON, if only for a brief moment.

If you remember, this was the first act of George W. Bush's second term in
office, occurring the day after the election.

That sent a significant message that nonsense from the Grkomans and the
Prosfigi Dirt Squatters will no longer be tolerated.

Presidents come and go. This one is on his way out. Neither is he, by
any stretch of the imagination, even yours, an authority on history.
I'd insist that you do better than that, but I'd be wasting time;)

So let me get this straight, poutana: You expect Greeks to respect *you*
whilst, at the same time, you treat Greeks in this manner?
Can you understand this, or will your Master have to repeat it again?

Don't fool yourself. Once policy has been set by the state department, it
generally stays.

Viva Dubya!
